Assassin Creed hat die Akrobatischen Spielereien aus Prince of Persia und die Strategien aus Splinter Cell übernommen. Das Spiel für die Xbox bekam eine außergewöhnliche Steuerung bei den die bunten tasten  zu seinen Körperteilen zugeordnet wurden. Beim Computer bleibt es wohl bei wasd und der Maus.
